The Main Thing is Maintenance

You make an investment when you join the Challenger Designs family. Our products can take their share of punishment from the sun, the snow, the rain, and just about anything else Mother Nature can throw at them. You don’t just want your investment to last, though – you want it to shine and sparkle.

We get it. We like our stuff, too.

Here are a few tips and tricks to keep your kitchen, grill cart, or garage cabinets looking good for years to come.

Rinse On, Dry Off

The easiest way to get the dirt and light grime off your powder-coated aluminum is to use water. To do this, first rinse your product off with water, then wipe it down with a non-abrasive damp rag or sponge. Finally, use a dry rag to wipe the moisture off to prevent water spots from rearing their ugly heads.

Something a Little Stronger

Got a bigger mess? Not a problem. Avoid using solvents, abrasives, or dish soap as they can damage your pride and joy’s finish.

Instead, use a mild soap to get your rig back to gleaming. We recommend testing the soap on an inconspicuous part of your product to make sure that the soap won’t affect the finish.

Shine, I Need More Shine!

You clearly have taste, and if you want to really polish your product up to its most impressive glean, you can use a carnauba wax. Note: You don’t have to go to Northeast Brazil to harvest that wax. Carnauba wax can be found in most automotive waxes.

What Not To Do

It’s a short list, but a few things can harm the finish of your Challenger Designs product. Here’s how to avoid problems:

  • Don’t keep objects on the surface for extended periods of time. That can trap moisture and debris.
  • Don’t place hot items directly on the surface of your product. These include hot ashes and also wet ashes, which are corrosive in nature, too. Just like in your indoor kitchen, you want to use a hot plate.
  • Don’t use ceramic or abrasive items on your product. That can damage any kind of painted surface – even ours.
  • Don’t keep your product directly in the sun every day all day. Paint fades in the sun to a certain degree no matter how well you care for it. We recommend shade or a cover to keep your colors bold and bright.

A well-maintained product from Challenger Designs will provide enjoyment for years to come. They’re built to stand the test of time…and you can make them shine!
